Eisner in talks to become Tribune chairman

Chicago Tribune Tribune’s largest creditors are talking with prospective candidates — including former Disney chief Michael Eisner — who could run the company once it emerges from bankruptcy. Under one scenario being discussed, the 68-year-old Eisner would be joined by Comcast exec Jeff Shell , who would replace Randy Michaels as CEO.

Houston Chronicle rejects anti-Perry ‘Coward’ ad

Texas Tribune Two dozen papers in Texas ran a full-page ad Monday with a picture of Gov. Rick Perry and the word “coward” in large, capital letters; Hearst’s Chronicle was the only paper to refuse it.

WashingtonPost.com Andrew Alexander says his blog post detailing reader complaints about a photo of two men kissing has prompted a backlash. Phone calls, e-mails and online comments are now running more than 10-to-1 in support of the decision to run the photo.
